How do we teach routines and expectations at the beginning of the school year?

Students listen to expectations for whole school assemblies and then practice them!


Mrs. Reed and Mrs. Dobson speak to students about expectations in the lunchroom.


Dr. Welling talks to girls about appropriate restroom behavior.

Our new P.E. teacher, Mr. Marche talks to students about safe practices on the playground.  



He then works with Mrs. Harding, the recess monitor to demonstrate how students come to line.

Learning how to "read the room" in kindergarten.  This is a center activity, but Ms. Jordan modeled this with the whole class today.  They did a great job of finding the letter I.  







Mr. Burnett explains how students will set up their phonics notebooks.







Mrs. Dwyer develops STAMINA with her first grade readers.  They are reading independently for 15 minutes on the third week of school.  See the bulletin board (below) where she tracks their progress.









Oscar has clearly learned the routine of getting in the reading zone….he did not even hear me creeping up on him to take a photo!
