Mrs. Dwyer’s first grade class worked on a STEAM
project this morning based on a book called Not a Box. In this book, the rabbit uses a box to be all
sorts of things from a volcano, to a building, to a space ship. The students worked in groups to create their
own “not-a-box”. They used boxes that
our new seats from the PTO came in and other recycled materials. Students applied
what they have learned about the engineering design cycle to design and create
a boat, two space ships, the statue of liberty, and a car.
