Emotional Intelligence Workshop for EES staff on Friday! (R.U.L.E.R.)

As part of our RULER (emotional intelligence training) we develop an EES Charter for staff.  This charter focuses on the way we (the adults) want to feel at work each day.  Teachers with a high emotional intelligence are able to work effectively with students!

Staff work in small groups to decide the key words that describe how they would like to feel while at work each day.

The staff was highly engaged in this important work!

The EES RULER trainers are Emily Dwyer, Debi Welling, Caitlin Featherstone, Jeannine Stanley, and yours truly, Jennifer Roberts!

These are the many words that staff came up with.  The next step is to narrow the list down to 5-7 words.  This was really hard work.  We had great discussion about each word and what that meant to staff.
How many of you would also like to feel like this at your work place?  Now our job is to determine how we as a staff can help each other feel this way.  We will get very specific.   After spending a year on this work (with the adults) we will begin to think about this work with students (next year)!
