The E.E.S. PTO sponsors a variety of enrichment
opportunities for our students throughout the school year. We are so
fortunate to have such a supportive group who focus on enhancing grade
level curriculum in such engaging ways!
Today the Museum of Science presented on flight to the K-2 students at
EES. This presentation explored the nature of air. While
exploring the theme of flight, students learned the characteristics of air.
They learned that air is made up of multiple gases with different properties. Theses young students were engaged in discussion about air, hot air, carbon
dioxide, and helium. The presenter demonstrated how air makes an airplane fly by using a leaf
blower and a model wing. (See picture below).
Students witnessed air pressure in action as a one student zipped across
the floor on a hovercraft. They also
observed how changing the shape of a giant ball determines whether it flops
along or flies across a room. This was such an engaging presentation that
you could hear laughter and ooohs and ahhs coming from the cafeteria! Enjoy the photos below, and thank you to our
PTO!!!
