E.E.S. Poetry Assembly

Enjoy this photos from today's Poetry Assembly.  The staff and students have found so many engaging ways to  celebrate Poetry Month with the culmination being this whole school assembly.  Every grade shared a poem and some even used props/costumes to enhance their performance!  Congrats to the staff for making poetry so much fun!!!

Students are empowered to problem solve! Way to go third graders!

The third graders were experiencing some troubles with the rules of some games played at recess. They decided to break up into teams and write clear and direct rules as well as role play scenarios they were experiencing on the playground.  Students will present their rules to their classmates and gather feedback. Students will then sign the new rules and post copies.

We have the BEST kids!!!

The third graders, Helen Moody, Katie Crompton and Sarah Court,  created a reading cafe for students to taste books about the sea. The students created a checkout system and a tasting sheet. Students were asked to taste at least three books. The third grader girls extended the cafe to the first and second graders to promote independent reading.
