Community Read Day at E.E.S.!

Thank you to the PTO for funding Community Read Day at EES!  Mrs. Whitman did an amazing job of supporting this initiative!  Also, Kudos to Jeannine Stanley for sharing ideas with staff and acting as a liaison with PTO to support this effort. What a fun day!   The weather was certainly helpful as well.

Mrs. Hardy dresses as the Cat in the Hat.  Students were asked to dress as their favorite book characters.

Maggie Whitman won this year's Teacher for the Day in 3C!  Keeping in the spirit of our Community Read Day theme "Devouring Books", Ms. Whitman set up a Harry Potter theme classroom.  She has devoured the series and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with her third grade students.  Ms. Whitman created "cootie catchers", The Daily Prophet, and special "lunch" choices for her students.

Mrs. MacNeill is so talented.  SHE created this amazing boy who ate the books to go along with the book THE INCREDIBLE BOOK EATING BOY!   This is so awesome!

Mrs. Samsel as Mathilda eating a book!

Mrs. Whitman created a display in the classrooms to add excitement to this fun day.   The books were delivered in pizza boxes!  What a great idea!

Mrs. Doherty contributed with this great art project and display in the front hallway.
