This Renewable Energy Engineering unit gets real science tools directly in the hands of our learners as they think about emerging technology and act as innovators. This workshop features building and design projects that help students learn about the science behind renewable sources of energy and the need to diversify our energy sources. In this picture, students are building a wind turbine in order to learn about wind energy.
This unit is structured to get students familiar with the science behind solar panels by having them use the technology first hand. Throughout this unit students are able to explore the possibilities of solar as one of many solutions to creating more sustainable communities.
This lesson teaches students the value of trees to both humans and animals. Students explore the different reasons humans rely on trees ( making paper) and the practices we use to source them. Students leave this lesson empowered to change their lives to help protect forests in unusual ways.
4th grade students learned about sustainable energy. They built their own wind turbine and then lit up an LED light!!
